So, like the rest of the posts that have no pictures.....they're coming!
If you don't know, Ed and I have changed our apartment. Our old one was just okay. The landlord (70lb Chinese, Michael Jackson Attire wanna be) was completely awesome; but that wasn't enough to keep us there. Instead we moved up. To the 7th floor that is. We've changed neighborhoods; to the 'Ritzy Chinese" area. And our apartment is sweet.
I know you are thinking, "Well a picture would be nice right about now so that I can agree with you that the apartment is truly 'sweet',". You will have to wait. I can't even draw you a picture and upload it. But if I could, it would be awesome. Just like my apartment.
Here are the specks:
- Roof top terrace (yeah you read that right)
- Hot water (all the time!)
- Awesome leather furniture (not the kind you stick to, but the good quality kind)
- A kitchen big enough for two people (Maybe even four people--unheard of in China!)
- Two balconies (not including roof top terrace)
- Plenty of room for lots of visitors; that is if anyone ever decides to visit us---come on, China isn't so bad!! Plus you could stand in my kitchen if you wanted to....)
- Did I mention the roof top terrace?
- Wicked cool store clerk who within one day figured out that we like our beer cold, thus has started putting the beer that we like to buy in the fridge just for us and who told us not to buy the eggs that we bought because they were no good (they were really fine) but rather buy the eggs he sells because they come from better hens. I mean he's looking out for us. Can you say that about your corner store clerk?
- A neighbor who watches our place like a hawk. Neighborhood watch? Check!
- And school bus that picks us up at 7:40 versus the 7:20 pick up time at our old place. Holla!!!
- 7th floor. Walk up. (96 steps if you were wondering--but thinking glass half full--my ass will be amazing after a year!).
- Construction across the street, which can be a bit loud at times. I have nothing good to say about that.
Considering what we've seen, these things are fine with us. I wish we took some pictures (not that you would be able to see them) of some of the places the real estate agents took us too. Holes in walls. No showers (just a tap). Scary buildings. Bugs. I guess that is why we decided to move into this place. It has 10 things (really more--but you don't want to hear all about that) that are great. A few things that are not great, but not really bad either.
Sooooo I guess if you really want to see the place, set a skype date and I can try to show you a video of it--but then again, my skype doesn't work all the time either so I'll get to work on that picture and mail it to you.
